Teen Adventure is an outdoor adventure program for youth ages fifteen to seventeen. Originating from a base camp in Lexington, VA, trips are three weeks long and consist of twelve campers and two trip leaders. Campers have considerable responsibility for the day-to-day planning and management of trips, which consist of backpacking, white-water canoeing or rafting, and service projects.
Moondance is an adventure travel company for teens going to some of the world's most awe-inspiring places. We believe that being outside is the ideal setting for learning who we are as leaders, team members, friends, and human beings. We flourish when distractions are limited to night skies, sunsets, new friends, good conversation, mountain passes, and fresh air.
Our first journey took 40 pioneering teens on the road to experience the beauty and adventure of National Parks in the Western USA and Canada along with the excitement of California. Savannah had an incredible time, cultivating new and meaningful friendships while being exposed to so many new everlasting experiences. She learned a ton and enjoyed every experience.
If you long to climb a mountain, sleep under the stars, hike through a national park, or learn outdoor survival skills, these outdoor and adventure summer programs will fit the bill. Some are based in traditional summer camps, others take give teens a chance to explore the backwoods of states as diverse as New York and Hawaii. Wildness adventures will help you develop skills like leadership and ingenuity that will serve you well in college, while you're making new friend and having fun. Does your child plan to catch some rays and chill in flip-flops this summer?
